In preparation for our bridge-building I wanted to provide some information for some of the resources I'll be referring to. As a Latter-Day Saint, we use both the Bible (the King James Version) and the Book of Mormon to gain a greater understanding of this life and the next to come. Assuming that some of you may not be familiar with Book of Mormon, I've decided to share this:
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland is one of our religious leaders and does us the honor of reading the introduction to The Book of Mormon (no commentary added). The introduction was written after translation of The Book of Mormon was finished and was provided by the first leaders of the church. Of those leaders was Joseph Smith, Jr., the man who translated the book by the power of God, and was the first President of the church. He is also known as the prophet of the Restoration.
